Summit School Early Learning Center enjoys providing
children their first preschool experience. The two-year-old program is
provided to children of all abilities two hours per day, two or three
days per week.
Teachers are highly qualified and certified as
developmental therapists. This ensures each child receives a program
which meets his/her individual developmental needs.
Teachers help children to learn turn-taking,
sharing, playing, routine and transition skills. Teachers also help
children to learn clean-up, dressing and self help skills.
Programs are designed to develop cognitive,
adaptive, motor, language and social/emotional development. Whenever
possible, teachers assist families in the beginning stages of toilet
training.
Children unable to voice their needs through
spoken words are encouraged through peer communication as well as sign
language to reduce their frustration with verbal skills.
At Summit School Early Learning Center, children build
readiness skills, using colors and shapes, numbers and counting, as
well as art experiences.
