Since 1968, Summit School has provided thousands
of children the necessary academic and interpersonal skills to lead
productive and meaningful lives. Summit School is approved by the State
of Illinois as a 14-7.02 private special education school and is
accredited by the North Central Association.
Summit is dedicated to fulfilling the needs of
children with learning difficulties. We accept students from
first grade through high school graduation, who are challenged with
identified learning, attentional and/or social difficulties, including
children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Summit School offers an array of services to
support students’ educational experiences. Each student
program is guided by an individualized education program (IEP).
Summit School academics include all core subjects
contained in the Illinois State Goals and Learning Standards. Students
receive additional support, in the areas of computers, pre-vocational
work program and transition planning. Related services include speech
and language therapy, occupational therapy and counseling.
